Description
Members of Kentucky’s Lead in Drinking Water workgroup, representing utilities, engineering consultants, and partners, will continue the 90-minute session about our statewide collaboration to implement the Lead and Copper Rule Improvements. This portion of the session will focus on the following topics: communication and administration best practices, water quality and corrosion control treatment, and coordinating school and childcare water sampling for lead. Presenters will provide an overview of the workgroup’s accomplishments on these topics so far. Accomplishments include: hosting “By utilities, for utilities” workshops, developing resources (web pages, printable and customizable handouts, social media materials, etc.), assisting the Division of Water to understand utilities’ needs, and establishing relationships with and providing support for underrepresented water systems. This is the second of three half-hour segments presented by the workgroup, with a guided discussion and Q&A session during the last half-hour.
