Effects of industrial wastewater on biological processes (with specific examples) • Problems caused by slug hydraulic loads • Problems caused by high FOG content • Problems caused by excessive acidity • Problems caused by excessive coarse suspended matter • Problems caused by heavy metals and toxic organics • Problems caused by slug organic loads • Problems caused by flammable and explosive substances • Industrial wastes that often contribute to settleability issues in activated sludge 5.
