Dr. Murray is Hazen’s PFAS national subject matter expert in drinking water focused on a variety of PFAS management topics including PFAS adsorption pretreatment, PFAS destruction, and PFAS accumulation in drinking water residuals. In 2024, he led an AWWA study characterizing the fate of PFAS in conventional drinking water residuals which ultimately laid the foundation for this study in collaboration with Louisville Water. He obtained his PhD at Colorado School of Mines where he evaluated adsorbents such as GAC, IX, and Fluoro-Sorb for PFAS removal from a variety of matrices.
