As the demand for clean water and sustainable water management grows, the need for skilled water professionals has never been more critical. This presentation will outline innovative strategies for recruiting and engaging the next generation of water industry leaders through the Kentucky/Tennessee American Water Works Association (AWWA) and Clean Water Professionals (CWP) Student Committee. We will explore the workforce challenges facing the water sector and offer actionable solutions applicable to utilities, consultants, and contractors from the student perspective. Key topics will include strengthening educational pipelines, leveraging social media for outreach, establishing mentorship programs, and providing competitive career growth opportunities. The presentation will also highlight successful case studies from utilities and consultants that are leading the way in workforce development. Attendees will gain valuable insights into the engagement opportunities offered by the AWWA/CWP Student Committee and hear perspectives from current students interested in the water industry.
