Ten Critical Metrics for Effective Utility Management
Track
System Management
Description
This session will provide an overview of ten critical metrics for effective utility management. The metrics were originally developed through a partnership between EPA, AWWA, WEF and several other industry representatives in 2008 and recently updated in 2024. Participants will be provided access to an on-line survey for use in generating a free utility specific report that will then be sent to the participants after the conference. The report can then be used as a roadmap to help guide future utility improvements. The session will also provide an overview of a free technical services program in support of that goal. The program is currently offered through a partnership between the University of Kentucky and the University of Tennessee-Knoxville that provides workshops, training, and technical assistance to small utilities operating in the eastern part of both states in support of improved utility management. Additional free tools for asset management and water distribution modeling will also be briefly discussed.
