Description
As a utility, openness and transparency is key to demystifying the “magic” of safe, clean, and reliable water services; building trust with our customers; and showing our employees the value of their part in the larger process. One way Metro Water Services accomplishes this is through “opening our doors” to the public. We offer tours to students, teaching them the value of water and our environment. We offer the same tours to our employees, to allow them to be the best representatives they can be in their communities and understand their role in our larger process. We also offer monthly tours to the public on a where we encourage everyone to ask questions and further their understanding of where water comes from and how it is treated. Outside of tours, our Citizen’s Water Academy offers a more in-depth look at the inner workings of all of our processes and facilities. This program is held twice a year and includes 5 sessions spanning over the course of 2.5 weeks. Participants get the opportunity to interact with our staff and experience our various processes while visiting multiple facilities. The outcome is community ambassadors with an understanding and appreciation of the work that goes into all that we do.
