Scott Smith received his master’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Louisville in 1994. He worked as a consultant focusing on environmental issues for four years before accepting a position at Louisville Water in the Operations Department. After three and half years he transferred to the Managing Water Quality Department where he focused on operations support, research, and distribution water quality. In 2006, Mr. Smith accepted a Project Engineer position, where his concentration was designing, constructing, and implementing capital plant improvement and rehabilitation projects. In 2012, he was promoted to Manager of Plant Process and Production Engineering. In 2017, he obtained the Manager of Plant Operation position. Currently, Mr. Smith holds both the Manager of Plant Operation and Manager of Plant Process and Production Engineering positions at Louisville Water.
