Description
Problem: Henderson KY WWTP dewaters their biosolids to 17% cake solids via belt filter presses.
Solution: Install a 3.0m wide Elode Electrodewatering equipment supplied by Charter Machine Co. along with sludge holding bin and conveyors.
Result: Elode takes 17% T.S. cake and dries it to 42% T.S. cake in under 2 minutes with only the use of electrical AC power converted to DC power and then introduce the belt press dewatered cake to this DC field to separate water from solids via Electrophoresis and Electroosmotic processes. This resulted in a 60% reduction is hauling costs.
