Tree Roots in pipes and manholes can cause numerous issues for a sewer system. Spawning out of its Consent Decree, Lexington, Kentucky has implemented a root control program to address roots within the system. For the last few years, Lexington has dedicated funds for a chemical root control program, and in 2022, Lexington investigated the effectiveness of the chemical root control treatments within portions of the system. This presentation will walk you through the pre and post treatment line inspections along with the results from the yearlong look at the treated lines.
